Afternoon Tea at The Black Swan, Helmsley
Oh what a beautiful mooooorning, oh what a beautiful daaaay!
I feel like we picked this day perfectly as the final beams of Summer sun shined their shine on us in Helmsley this weekend. What a cheery little market town! Rivers, pubs, old fashioned sweet shops - that sort of vibe, ie - right up my street :)
William's mum had planned for us all to go for afternoon tea at The Black Swan (or the mucky duck *said in strong Yorkshire accent if you're a local*) and what a delightful tearoom it was! What made it even more special was that the waiter was SO accommodating and lovely. The grub was delicious, I actually ended up having a Pork Pie Ploughman's as for some reason I didn't fancy sweet, (very unlike me), but the afternoon tea looked scrummy and must have tasted it too as many 'mmm' sounds were murmured around the table as the rest tucked into their clotted cream, jammy scones.
Where's Willy?
It was a lovely British afternoon, topped off with a glass of wine at this quaint village pub we found on the drive home.
Where's your favourite place for afternoon tea?
