Well these lasted all of about 10 minutes.
I'm actually salivating thinking about them again.
Does anyone else get those urges for something naughty and then accidentally buy those gooey delicious cheesey twists from the Sainsbury's bakery?
It's happening to me on a more regular basis than is necessary. I tell you they just fall into my basket without me even noticing.
So I decided to try and make some and what a cracking success! SO simple to make, yes maybe a little bit naughty but ya know...they can be your midweek/weekend/Monday treat! (She says tucking into a bag of Popchips....apparently everyday is treat day for me!)
I made them slightly more fancy shmancy with parma ham, rosemary and garlic so you're definitely getting a flavoursome fill with each mouthful.
What you'll need //
1 sheet of Jus Rol Puff Pastry (approx 320g)
1 garlic clove
2 tsp rosemary
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
70g strong cheddar cheese
5 slices parma ham
1 egg
What to do //
Preheat oven to 200 degrees C (fan) and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
In a bowl combine your crushed garlic clove, rosemary, salt and pepper.
Whisk up your egg in a separate bowl and lay out your puff pastry sheet horizontally. Lightly brush the top half of your pastry with egg, sprinkle over half your herby mixture, half your cheese and all your parma ham strips evenly.
Fold the bottom half of the pastry over the top half to cover your scrummy ingredients in a little blanket.
Brush with egg and sprinkle over remaining herbs and cheese.
With a long sharp knife, cut upwards evenly into strips of approximately 3-4cm wide. Roughly twist your strips and brush again with egg before placing on your lined baking tray.
Bake for 17-20 minutes and leave to cool (or don't) before devouring.
